Safeguarding

At York City Church, we are committed to creating a church where everyone, regardless of age or background, feels safe, valued, and supported. Jesus calls us to love one another, to look out for the most vulnerable, and to build a community marked by care and protection. So we take our safeguarding responsibilities seriously, making sure York City Church remains a place of welcome and safety for all.

We ensure all of our volunteers working with children and young people have been safely recruited with DBS checks, alongside regular safeguarding training and ongoing support where needed.

York City Church engages the professional advice, training, and consultancy services of thirtyone:eight, an independent charity that supports organisations in all areas of safeguarding children and adults at risk of harm.
